Macau Day Tour

We arrived in Macau with no plans at all. We just want to do hop on and hop off of the free buses from the hotels. But! There was a man who approached us and fortunately he is a Filipino too his name is Delfin he offered us a 100 Pataca/HKD per head, he will tour us around Macau by feet and free bus only. He told us it would be better if we tour Macau by feet we will appreciate Macau even more and he was right!

Photos taken during the bus ride:

Round about

Oh hello there Macau tower!

  • Our first stop was to witness the Diamond show in Wynn Hotel, it was so perfect we were just on time to have our photos taken before the show.

After the show

I tossed a coin and made a wish

  • Next stop, Dancing fountain outside Wynn Hotel. Kuya Delfin said the best time to watch it is during night time because it has lights on it.

  • We walk up to  Hotel Lisboa right accross Wynn Hotel.

Hotel Lisboa  may be a little old compare to new hotels in Macau but the historical value and its elegance is timeless.

Lobby of Hotel Lisboa

  • We head to the Municipality, with very colorful decors.

  • St. Paul Ruins

While walking towards St. Paul ruins we were able to experience taking a sample from each store of their specialties and also we bought souvenirs. There are aunties who were giving a bag with CD and booklet inside for catholics. But I cannot read it because it was written in Mandarin.

  • St. Dominc's Church

  • Igreja da Sé (Macau Cathedral)
It was closed when we passed by the Cathedral but the church is beautiful! I wish we had a chance to go inside.

  • Venetian
We then proceed to "new" Macau, this is the part where new hotels are situated.

We went to all 3 Canals but we had our pictures to the most famous Grand Canal. But we did not ride the Gondola because we want to be back in Hongkong at 6pm for the lights and sound show in Harbour front.

We walked in a bridge connecting Venetian and Parisian. It was tiring and draining, I think you should tour Macau atleast 2-3 days so you can savour the interior, architecture and history.
  • Parisian

Outside Parisian

After all the walking we've decided to take the next bus to Macau port and head back to Hongkong.

Tips:

- we ate in a establishment where food was a little cheaper because it was subsidized by the government for the students.

- bring your own water to save

- exchange rate is better in banks
