Taal Heritage Guide Day Tour

This sums up our Taal Hertiage tour, we did not go to the other Heritage houses since we leave Quezon City around 8am. We regret that we did not leave more early to explore the houses plus the Basilica.

Here's the list of all the place we've been to in Taal:

  • Basilica de San Martin de Tours
We parked our car in the parking grounds of the Basilica then we look for a place to eat. Our original plan was to eat Lomi but it was so hot that we cannot eat Lomi. I suggest that when you arrive in the Basilica go inside and explore it and the museum (which has a fee of Php50). I am not sure if you can still go up to the bell tower because we wasn't able to explore the museum they closes at 5pm, sadly.

Outside the Basilica

Inside the Basilica

Left: Outside the Museum; Right: Outside the Basilica

Middle: Escuela Pia (Taal Cultural Center)

  • Casa Real

  • Galleria Taal
With an entrance fee of Php100 per head you can go inside and see the personal collection of Mr. John Silva plus you will have a personal in-house tour guide.

 Some of the camera collections

  • Marcela Agoncillo House/Museum
No entrance fee as this is a government own museum but you may want to give a tip right after the tour. They have an audio visual presentation as you enter the house and what I really like is there are in-house tour guide to explain everything inside the house.

  • Don Leon Apacible Museum
Though we didn't get the chance to go inside, we really really wanted to but we were running out of time. Also, this is a government own museum which also has a in-house tour guide.

  • Paradores Del Castillo
I think this is the one and only Hotel, Bed & Breakfast, Bar in Taal, we did not try to hang out inside but it has a cute color and very very beautiful design.

  • Our Lady of Caysasay Shrine
I did not have the chance to take a photo of the Shrine outside but here is the photo of the inside.

Left: Our Lady of Caysasay Shrine, Middle: Going up at the back of the Shrine to touch the Our Lady of Caysasay or buy souvenirs, Right: Lounging at the back after saying our prayers to the Our Lady of Caysasay.

  • Sta. Lucia Miracle Well
Just a few steps from the Our Lady of Caysasay Shrine just ask the locals or like what we did, we asked the candle vendor to accompany us to the Miracle well and he explained everything to us. Please don't be kuripot buy the candles it is only Php20 and also give a tip to the kid.

  • San Lorenzo Ruiz Steps
A 125 steps from Our Lady of Caysasay Shrine to the center of the town leading to the Basilica de San Martin de Tours.

So that's it! I will definitely be back because 1. I believe that my wish to Our Lady of Caysasay will come true, I will give my flower offering to her and 2. I really want to explore more of Taal check the other houses, eat Lomi, check in in the hotel.
