His menu is one of a kind! And he really does take his time to make a description on each and every dish.
I like the interior of the Wooden Spoon. Instead of fancy chandelier with crystals on it, they attached wooden spoons. The tables and chairs are I think customized for the restaurant.
The ambiance is really nice, very relaxing and comfortable.
What I ordered for appetizer is Crab Pansit because the decription is very inviting and also I am curious what this crispy pansit will taste like and also the crab sauce.
Crab pansit
I was expecting that the Crab Pansit would be salty, but it really exceeds my expectations. The pansit is crunchy! It is really my type!
For the main dish we ordered the following:
Binagoongan
Let me start with Humba, the pork is super tender the sauce is just right not too sweet and not too salty. The banana is giving the natural sweetness on this dish.
Shrimp Pampango
As the menu promise, you can eat theshrimp from head to tail. And the dip is super tasty. The shrimp gets better and tastier when you chew it properly.
Bistek Tagalog
My goodness! The beef is super tender! I didn't know that bistek tagalog would be a good combination with mashed potato.
And lastly the Binagoongan, I think this will be Wooden Spoon's signature to me, it is the tenderness of the meat. Their Binagoongan has coconut pulp, you will not taste the usual binagoongan which is salty. The flavors are really balance and I like it!
The service is really fast that time because they only have limited number of customers, also that day is night before Christmas eve.
The ambiance is really good and the light and songs are very relaxing.
Oh and by the way they also accommodate parties and other activites minimum of 30 persons. For more info you may check their Facebook fan page.
Xoxo,
