Pier 7, Quezon City

December 2016

My friends and I tried Pier 7 for our mini get together and I also what to know if the hype was real. So let me start with my usual food and restaurant review blog.

 Concept

They doesn't have any concept but the things they are using are cute and very unique, for example instead of using plate they used a mini push cart, they also have a plastic ice cube  inside the glass lighting up whenever it touches a liquid which cute and amazing. Also, instead of plate for their burger they're using chopping board.

Food

Milkshakes are good for a sweet tooth like me but it may be overwhelming. My favorite among the shakes would be Salted Caramel.

Chessy Fries for me was not that good because it was more sweet than salty.

Sam Signature burger (6 bite sized colored burges) and Jordan's burger were good! I love how the patties were cooked, not to dry nor under cooked but perfectly moist.

Service

The servers were attentive and also they prepared our food just in time. Also, they implement self-service.

Ambiance

While waiting for my friends inside there were customers and as the time passed by the resto got full, I really hate it when you are in a resto and you cannot hear each other because of the noise. If you think the noise is from the people inside the resto it was not, they played songs to its maximum volume like you were in a bar.

Final verdict? I am willing to go back there just to try their shakes and burgers but I don't think anytime soon because I already knew this place is not conversation friendly nor cozy.

Cafe I'm Here (Tomas Morato)

I was finally able to visit Cafe I'm Here, since the day I knew about it.

It has cute interiors! And the place is huge and very spacious!

   Study table

If your are planning to stay here for a while just to play pokemon go? Then don't, they do not have wifi available. ;) But if you have a date then go ahead.

Going back..

When going upstairs you should leave your shoes/sandals/slippers or any footwear on the shoe rack and use the slippers provided.

Don't worry about the messy shoes everywhere the staff arranges them neatly whenever they can.

Pay as you order on the counter

    Pastries!! :)

Here's our order:

Upper left: Blueberry cheesecake (lol), upper right: Java chip mocha, Middle: strawberry smoothie, lower left: Cafe I'm Here sandwich

    Blueberry Cheesecake solo

    Cafe I'm here sandwich

Java chip mocha was good but nothing special.
Blueberry cheesecake is my all time favorite, and I like it.
Strawberry smoothie was a good choice, I will definitely order it again.
Cafe I'm here sandwich was okay, it has potato salad, ham, lettuce and scrambled egg.

Value for money 4 stars out of 5 stars. The food were a little bit pricey, just like the famous coffee shop. But I think you are really paying for the place and ambiance.

Staff are nice and polite and the cashier gave me suggestions and ideas on what to order.

Ambiance is good! Actually the place is perfect for hanging out, or if you want to grab a coffee or if you want to study and if you are like me who just want to discover a new place. ;)

I will be back for sure to try other food choices especially the cakes and pasta and also explore other spot in the cafe.

Xoxo,

U.P. Town Center: The Clean Plate by Twist

"To eat is a Necessity, but to eat Intelligently is an Art."

Clean plate is known for its organic ingredients. I'm not that into organic but I want to give it a try.

Inside the restaurant was already full so we've decided to sit outside. I really like the concept of the restaurant, the faux grass table and the colors are very relaxing to the eyes.

This is how their set up looks like

Here's our order

For appetizers

Chicken Caesar salad

Green Mango Salad
-the garlic chips is super yummy, the flavors compliment with each other.

Main dish:

Paella Pasta
-A simple Paella recipe in a pasta instead of rice.

Beef Salpicao
-no solo photo taken, I have a photo above. The beef is very tender and easy to chew. This one is good and a must try.

Honey Beef Belly Roast
-sweet and very tender beef, the sauce is made up of its juice from cooking the beef! Watch out for your blood pressure. Lol!

Ox tail Kare-Kare
- nothing special on this one, actually I don't like their Kare-Kare. The flavors of the peanut and some seasoning weren't there. Plus the ox tail is not tender.

Bistek Tagalog (no photo taken)
- this dish is quite disappointing since the beef is so hard to chew. But the sauce is good.

Bacon Lechon Kawali
-No photo taken, but this one is my favorite dish in their menu and maybe a good reason to go back there. The lechon kawali is super tender and the bacon really adds the flavor.

Please take note that all ala carte dishes we ordered have a rice with it. And also if you are a small but frequent eater like me one main dish is good for 2. We were a group of 5 but we cannot finish the food we ordered. The service is not so poor but not so good because it was difficult for us to call our server since we were outside the restaurant. Maybe I will give it a try again and I want to feel the ambiance inside the restaurant also, I want to try other dishes.
